Why “Mystery”?<\/h2>\n

Because most people who come to Sinai never hear of these places. Ask around in Dahab about Nawamis or Dragon Head and watch the blank faces. That’s exactly why we go.<\/p>\n

Day one: the canyons<\/h2>\n

Hamata Canyon<\/b>Named after its lone fig tree, the one that waters itself. Ask your guide for the story.<\/span><\/div>\n
Salama Canyon<\/b>Sinai’s small colored canyon, striped in reds and purples.<\/span><\/div>\n
White Canyon<\/b>Smooth, pale sandstone walls.<\/span><\/div>\n
Closed Canyon<\/b>No way out the other end, the narrowest of the four, with pools after rain.<\/span><\/div>\n
Khudra Oasis & Mushroom’s Rock<\/b>Palms, a spring-fed pool and the famous rock shaped like a mushroom.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The night<\/h2>\n

We camp for the night at Khudra Oasis: dinner under the palms and a sky with no light pollution at all. Breakfast in the morning, then off to day two.<\/p>\n

Day two: Nawamis, Dragon Head & the Big Dune<\/h2>\n

Nawamis<\/b>Round stone burial houses, thousands of years old. We walk among them and hear the story behind them.<\/span><\/div>\n
Jabal El Makhroom (Dragon Head)<\/b>A rock mountain that really looks like a dragon’s head. Time to explore around it.<\/span><\/div>\n
The Big Dune<\/b>Climb it, sit on top, run down. Plus hidden corners of the desert around it.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
